I serve as the WM Chairperson for the Health Advisory Board, and my connection with the Highlands Family Success Center began over a decade ago. At that time, I mentioned to someone at the Center that I was planning a senior citizen event, and they graciously offered any help they could provide. We partnered for that first event, serving about 150 local seniors with food and access to community resources.
Today, more than ten years later, that partnership has grown and we now host an annual event that welcomes close to 1,000 attendees and nearly 100 organizations offering free or affordable services. The Highlands Family Success Center has truly become a hub in our community. Beyond the incredible activities they run for people of all ages and needs, they bring together service providers who can network, collaborate, and strengthen the support available to our area.
Because of their tireless work, open communication, and genuine willingness to collaborate with others in the helping professions, our township now has more accessible services than ever before. They have never turned their backs on anyone in need, often extending their care well beyond regular work hours. I am grateful for their dedication and proud to partner with them in serving our community.
